I also did a binding kit before finishing my sewing machine mat. I binded the kit all by machine. For a binding kit , it is the worst binding I have ever made😡.
I will try to make another one.
This kit is fun to make with a zipper pouch and tread holder and goodies pouch.
This is the perfect time to talk about binding. Really by hand to the back of the quilt is the best way to bind a quilt. It makes better corners and do not leaves puckers. It also do not show seams.
Here again pics of my binding kit.

Goodie goodie binding kit
Mat
I have finished the sewing machine mat. The tread catcher does not match. I will make another one and this time make it match. I will use this one with something else. It is good that it is removable.
I only have my small hobby pfaff sewing machine. Her two big Sisters are being serviced at the quiltery by Peter. It is fun actually to give this little one a go once in a while.
Now some pictures.

Aprons
Something quick.
Something fun.
Aprons.
With embroidery turned out to be great.
One is for mom.
The one with the hearts.
The other one is for me when I sew.

Quilters planner cover
On new year morning I ordered on line the beautiful quilter's planner from late night quilter. She has a blog as well.
By ordering the planner you get a well detailed tutorial of a cover for the planner.
I could not wait to much longer and had to make it.
So here it is my planner with it's cover.

Alone today
So no hubby around for the day. Dear husband have been tidying up is wood shop. He is preparing the shop to build our bedroom furniture. Yey!
He also aquired an amazing wood turning lathe. He is quite happy and proud of the new addition to is wood shop.
So today, being my last day off , I decided to rearrange a bit the furniture in the kitchen. Cause, you see, my sewing machine is in the kitchen. Also is my cuting/ironing table.
So here it is .

Quilting away with powerquilter
I am off this week and having fun trying to finish this beautiful quilt. This is the quilt I worked on at the 2015 quilting retreat organized by Martha at covered bridge quiltery. The quilt is from Joan Ford second book scrap therapy plus one. The pattern is called flower bed.
I am using stencils for this quilt, that I trace on a stack of about 12 dritz paper. I sew over the traced template with the powerquilter to perforate all of the 12 copies of the dritz paper. Of course no tread in the needle. I positioned one of the perforated paper copie and secure it to the quilt with double sided tape. After that I am ready to quilt following the perforated line, sewing trough all of the layers. It is a continuous line stencil. Once it is done I tear away the paper and voila, beautiful quilting.
